PROMPT AMBULANCE SERVICE PURCHASES KEENEY
AMBULANCE AND TRANSPORT SERVICE (KATS)
PROMPT Ambulance Service is proud to announce its
acquisition of Keeney Ambulance and Transport Service
(KATS) which has operations in Rensselaer, Lafayette and
Frankfort, Indiana.
As a subsidiary of PROMPT, KATS will begin operating under
the name PROMPT Ambulance Central beginning February 26,
2012. Much of their existing management structure will
remain intact and PROMPT plans to retain the more than 70
employees.
With this acquisition, PROMPT will assume the existing 9-1-1
emergency contract for Rensselaer and Central Jasper County
as well as several non-emergency contracts; primarily with
hospitals and nursing facilities.
Rick Keeney, who along with his family owns KATS stated
“Once the family made the decision to sell we approached
PROMPT because of their reputation of taking good care of
their employees and patients; we wanted to leave the
business in good hands.”
The acquisition will expand PROMPT’s service area which
currently extends from Lake County to South Bend. “We
strongly believe that the purchase will be beneficial to both
companies as it will allow for better coverage and service
especially for the outlying areas, and we look forward to a
smooth and seamless transition over the coming weeks and
months” states the CEO of PROMPT, Gary T. Miller.
